The Monarchies
During the absolute monarchies there was lots of kings and
queens but it was only about one ruler. Louis XIV became king in 1643. He became
part of the government in 1661 but he had a thing with art and drama. He died
in 1715. Peter the great did a lot of good things for Russia. He introduce
potatoes and Russia first new paper. He became ruler of Russia in 1649 at age
24. He also hired European officers to
have a better army. He also had plans to go west.
Charles I was the one who forced parliament back into England
but he himself didn’t even follow it. Parliament was were the government was
higher than the ruler but he dissolved in 1629 and he was sentenced to death in
1649.
Than Oliver Cromwell became king, he favored Christian religion
and established common wealth. He died in 1658.
Charles II was voted by parliament to become king. When he ruled
the time he did it was called restoration. He passed a law for prisoners to
have a right. He died in 1685.
James II became king in 1685. Fled to France because he was
a horrible ruler. And when he did it was called glorious revolution.
William and Mary (daughter of James II) started to rule in
1689 and they came up with the bill of rights that linked monarch and parliament. They ruled for 13 years.
The Magna Carta was a pieces of paper signed by john king of
England to have equal rights of ruling with the government. The protection of
the law.
