Ancient Rome
The Romans first king was the king of Etruscan. He started to role over Rom, he built temples and public centers. He was later thrown out in 509 B.C for being to cruel to the people. The republic (government which people elect) was brought into Rome. When Roman republic was starting the two classes were struggling. The patricians (rich people) held the most power while the plebians (middle and lower class) could vote but not rule while the tribunes were the people who represented the plebian. Later the Republic comes up with the base to roman laws, the twelve tables confirmed the rights to all citizens. They hung in the forum(market and center business).
Roman Republic was falling apart because the gap between plebian and patricians kept getting bigger. Plus the military was becoming disloyal and undisciplined After the republic was falling apart a military leader named Julius Ceaser was elected consul in 59 B.C. Over the time Ceaser had many victories, increasing his popularity between the people. Pompey was afraid of Ceaser growing power so he challenges Ceaser, but Ceaser defeats Pompey's army. After Ceaser creates jobs for the poor and grants them citizenship rights. Ceaser gets killed by senators and rich people.
Augustas Ceaser was known as the "exalted one" Augustus gets rid of the government and makes it an empire(one ruler). Augustas lived during the Pax Romana (all about peace and prosperity). Augustas establishes a long lasting system of government and glorifies rome with all type of sculptures and buildings.
Later Roman becomes really modern. Master builders come up with aqueducts to help bring water into the city. They built giant coliseums to host events, and roads to make trade easier. All of the required a special material "concrete" made of volcanic ash and limestone. Both the aqueducts and collosseum had the roman arch to it.
